GACSB's 21st ANNUAL

"SPRING FLING"

APRIL 29, 2018 - MAY 2, 2018

Dear Friends:

The Georgia Association of Community Service Boards (GACSB) is pleased to announce that planning is currently underway for its 21st Annual Spring Fling.

This retreat brings together some of our strongest allies in RECOVERY, celebrating those living with a mental illness, intellectual/developmental disability, or substance use disorder; while also focusing on the life of recovery they live or are continuing to seek.

This is an exciting and informative program which will provide both individuals and groups the opportunity to hear speakers that motivate, educate, and empower! The curriculum also includes topic specific breakout (MH/AD & IDD) sessions to further educate on living well.

The dates for this educational event are April 29, 2018 through May 2, 2018. We are proud to announce this will be our first time hosting the event at Epworth by the Sea!

Event registration begins now, so kindly see below for scholarship and additional event details!

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Sincerely,

GACSB Education & Individual Advocacy Committee

Dr. Kay Brooks, Chair

Bill Carruthers, Vice Chair

Robyn Garrett, GACSB Executive Director

FAMILY SUPPORT FUNDING:

  1. Please remember that you can utilize the Family Supports dollars to pay for registration for your IDD consumers that are not on Waivers. In fact this is a GREAT way to utilize Family Support, so please get with your Family Support Coordinators to access these funds to pay for Spring Fling.
  2. For the Waiver Supplemental Services (WSS) the main categories of approval are Dental, Vision and General Medical,  but there is an "Other" category so members can try to access that for Spring Fling.  Highland Rivers Health and Pineland are the 2 fiscal agents for these WSS funds on behalf of DBHDD, and they urge you try and access these funds for Spring Fling for your waiver individuals. Remember WSS has to go through Support Coordination.  Also, any MH consumers that are living with a co-occurring diagnosis and have documented intellectual/ developmental disabilities can qualify for Family Support funding for Spring Fling.
  3. For IDD individuals who have Respite in their ISP, those funds can be utilized for Spring Fling registration.
