Aims, Objectives and Learning Outcomes:

Aims:

To provide an update on the latest developments in clinical practice, education, training and research in oral surgery.

Objectives:

By the end of the Dental Nurses Study Day, the delegate should be able to:

Describe the clinical and radiographic diagnosis and management of odontogenic tumours and
cysts.
Describe the anaesthetic consideration for oral surgery patients.
Describe the antiplatelet and anticoagulant regimes and their implications for oral surgery.
Discuss the diagnosis and management of oral ulceration.
Understand oral and maxillofacial surgery performed by vets.
Discuss radiography and radiation protection legislation and roles and responsibilities relevant
to oral surgery practice.
Describe and discuss the GDC’s enhanced CPD scheme.

Learning Outcomes:

The Oral Surgery Dental Nurses Study Day is intended to provide a forum for debate and discussion of topics related to clinical practice, education, training and research for nurses involved in oral surgery.
