Aims, Objectives and Learning Outcomes: 

Aims:

To provide an update on the latest developments in clinical practice, education, training and research in oral surgery.

Objectives:

By the end of the Dental Nurses Study Day, the delegate should be able to: 

  •         Describe the clinical and radiographic diagnosis and management of odontogenic tumours and
  •         cysts.
  •         Describe the anaesthetic consideration for oral surgery patients.
  •         Describe the antiplatelet and anticoagulant regimes and their implications for oral surgery.
  •         Discuss the diagnosis and management of oral ulceration.
  •         Understand oral and maxillofacial surgery performed by vets.
  •         Discuss radiography and radiation protection legislation and roles and responsibilities relevant
  •         to oral surgery practice.
  •         Describe and discuss the GDC’s enhanced CPD scheme.       

Learning Outcomes:

The Oral Surgery Dental Nurses Study Day is intended to provide a forum for debate and discussion of topics related to clinical practice, education, training and research for nurses involved in oral surgery.
