Join us again as we celebrated in vintage style, by paying homage to the Speakeasy era. 

Our 16th annual Gala “speakeasy” themed event will be a swell evening filled with live entertainment that will hit on all sixes.   Come out and play your hand on the gaming tables and bid in the silent auction.The evening would not be complete without flavorsome food to tantalize your taste buds. Proceeds from this event will go a long way in recovering lives and restoring families within thecommunity. So get your glad rags ready and join us as we enjoy an ambiance onlysecond to an actual experience.

The event will also feature an awards presentation that honors an organization and an individual who has made a major impact in our community.

EMCEE:

Darryl W. Dennard is a face and voice familiar to television viewers and radio listeners everywhere.  He is an award-winning Broadcast Journalist. His news anchoring talents are heard weekly on iHeartMedia’s WVAZ-FM, WGCI-FM and WGRB-AM’s Community Affairs programming. He is the host and producer of Chicago Insight and Chicago Speaks, Chicagoland’s number one rated radio program, airing live on Sundays from 6am to 8am.

2017 Award Recipients:

Broadway Area Community Development Corporation, recipient of the Commonweal Award for Institutional Leadership. The BACDC has been Developing homes for low and moderate income individuals and families for more than a decade. The organization enjoy “Building Dreams of Hope’” in our community.   This award recognizes institutional leadership in promoting the common good in communities faced with difficult and longstanding challenges.

Senator Joe Donnelly, recipient of the Commonweal Award for Personal and Professional Leadership. As Senator, Donnelly has worked hard on behalf of communities and individuals affected by the opioid epidemic.  In 2016, Senator Donnelly helped the Senate pass the bipartisan 21st Century Cures Act aimed at  combating  the opioid abuse and heroin use epidemics. This award recognizes longstanding contributions exhibited by individuals and individual acts of distinction which illustrate the priority that the common good should hold over personal or parochial gain.
