Your Coaches for the event ...

Bethany Gareiss, DDS, Certified EGCMethod® Coach

One of the most courageous decisions Dr. Bethany ever made was to leave a very successful career during peak years, and it didn’t happen overnight. However, being a visionary who follows her heart, it became clear that she had to do whatever it took to follow her passion of coaching dentists to their best life. She sold her practice, became a Certified Life Coach in 2011, and an Equine Gestalt Coach in 2015. Helping others discover their own joy and purpose is at the core of how Dr. Bethany serves, and she is now in the business of restoring the human spirit instead of teeth!

Horses have always been an important part of Dr. Bethany’s life. The mere presence of a horse is healing for the heart, and they speak to us in many ways.  Combining the wisdom of horses and the positive effects of coaching, Dr. Bethany facilitates transformational retreats that put lowering stress and restoring health center stage. Come and experience what the horses have to say; no one ever forgets what a 1200-lb animal teaches them!

Carolyn Fitzpatrick, Certified EGCMethod® Coach

Carolyn's extensive background in psychology, conflict transformation, the “language of equus” and years of personal experiences with hundreds of horses has prepared and led her to help you find your best self. Her equine gestalt coaching methods combine intuitiveness, energy, somatic awareness and positive coaching skills along with the horse as a partner to provide you with real experiences that become transformational moments; her equine trust-based partnership training methods are taught in a cooperative manner so the horse and the horse owner learn to dance through life together with a stronger understanding of each other; and her one-on-one relationship coaching has helped many to understand their past and provide them with the tools to create a more fulfilling relationship in their lives.

WHAT TO BRING

You’ll want to pack clothes that are easily layered as weather can be unpredictable and temperatures can go from cool to quite warm in a single day.

  • Boots with a heel are a must to prevent your foot from slipping through your stirrups.
  • Jeans or riding pants.
  • Long and short sleeved shirts
  • Jacket and fleece or sweatshirt for layering. A heavier jacket is recommended for June and September dates.
  • Hats and caps are helpful for keeping the sun out of your eyes and off your face. Cowboy hats need a stampede string (for sale here if you wish).
  • Casual clothes for non-riding time.
  • Optional gear that can be helpful includes gloves, helmet, rain gear (slickers are available for use for the week), chaps, sunscreen, swimsuit for the Hot Springs and Cowboy Hot Tub, fishing equipment
  • A camera!

FOOD & BEVERAGE

Meals are home cooked and there’s plenty of it! Three squares a day – breakfast, lunch and dinner. From big country breakfasts to sizzling steaks off the grill, to fresh baked desserts; you definitely won’t go hungry at Bonanza Creek. If you require a special diet, just let us know ahead of time.

BYOB (Bring your own booze) is our policy for beer, wine and alcoholic beverages. Each evening before dinner, come and join us on our “deck with a million dollar view” for a social hour at the Lodge. Light appetizers are provided. A good time to rehash those great moments of the day and perhaps enhance them a little!

In addition to any alcoholic beverages, some guests like to bring in their own special snacks and beverages. Each cabin is outfitted with a refrigerator for your use for the week.

Retreat Location: Bonanza Creek Ranch

On this family operated ranch, you will find 1,500 head of cattle on 25,000 acres – and that means lots of places to ride and lots of cattle to move. The ranch was originally homestead in 1877 by Norwegian immigrants looking for a better life. Today the Voldseth family, which are the fourth and fifth generations living on this land, own and work the ranch. It won’t take you long to see that they chose this area not only for its good water and grasses to graze cattle and sheep, but also for its beautiful scenery. The Voldseth Ranch lies partly in the legendary Crazy Mountains and partly in the beautiful Castle Mountains.

Retreat participants will stay on the ranch in cozy cabins, eat homecooked meals, enjoy reconnecting to nature, ride, and create a plan to bring a stress-free environment back to their practice.
