Circles of Safety: Virtual Classroom Series

Register for this summer Circles of Safety training series in one or two parts.

PART 1: Awareness to Action – June 27-29
This core training equips youth-serving professionals to prevent child sex abuse through learning how to strengthen protective factors that support children’s healthy and safe sexual development, identify and respond to warning signs in children and adult’s behaviors in their programs, and design safety plans to address safe boundaries, privacy, consent and respect. This course is a mix of lecture, discussion, reflection, and exercises. It is strongly recommended that participants are on-camera throughout the training to facilitate an engaging online classroom experience.

This is a 12-hour virtual training, delivered over 3 days.

Dates: Tuesday, June 27, Wednesday, June 28, and Thursday, June 29

Times: 9AM to 1PM ET. CEs have been applied for.

Cost: $285 (or $300 with optional purchase of hard-copy manual)

OPTIONAL PART 2: Training of Trainers – July 19-20

Note: Awareness to Action is a prerequisite!

Become a certified trainer in this curriculum. Gain the tools to train your staff, community members,and caregivers you support, including parents, foster parents and residential staff.

Participants will receive a trainer’s manual and presentation materials, will be eligible for a 3-year certification as a Circles of Safety Community Presenter, and will be able facilitate two separate workshops within their organization (both in-person and electronically): Understanding the Role of Healthy Sexuality Development and Education in Sexual Abuse Prevention and Understanding and Responding to Warning Signs.

Note: While usually a 9-hour training, this session is expected to be a smaller class and will be offered as a 7-hour training, delivered over 2 days. A third session may be added on July 25 depending on the number of registrants. Registrants will be notified if this date is needed, and are requested to keep this date open at this time.

Dates: Wednesday, July 19 and Thursday, July 20 (hold July 25 for a potential 3rd training day)

Times: 12:30PM to 4PM ET.

Circles of Safety is Stop It Now!'s signature training series. Awareness to Action equips youth-serving professionals, caregivers and other adults to prevent child sexual abuse. The training covers the facts of abuse, warning signs in youth and adults, and practice of tough conversations to intervene before concerning situations become abuse.
