Add-on Event - Zentangle Art Night Fundraiser with
Orca Network volunteer Jeanne Hamilton!
Friday April 16 ~ 6:00 - 8:00pm

ZentangleŽ is an easy-to-learn, relaxing and fun way to create beautiful patterns using a series of repetitive and mindfully placed pen strokes. During this session, participants will be led step-by-step through the process of filling the outline of our honored gray whale (don’t worry, you won’t have to draw that!) with beautiful patterns called tangles. You don’t have to be an “artist” to complete this project. You just must be willing to try - you won’t be disappointed!

Upon registration each participant will be provided a PDF of the “Welcome the Whales” project template to print out prior to the event. If you have card stock, that would be great but regular paper will also work. Also gather a black fine tipped pen such as a Sakura PN or even an ultra fine Sharpie, a #2 graphite pencil and a blending stump or Q-tip.

Jeanne Hamilton is a Certified ZentangleŽ Teacher who discovered Zentangle in 2013. In 2018 she travelled to Rhode Island to train with and receive her certification from Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, the creators of the ZentangleŽ Method.

Examples of Zentangle:

Cost $25. All proceeds benefit Orca Network's education and advocacy programs. Choose "Zentangle Art Class" in optional items under your Ways of Whales registration.

Join our Virtual Parade!

In place of our traditional in-person parade through downtown Langley, we will be holding a virtual parade,
and you can participate!

Dress yourself and/or your pet as your favorite marine animal, or make a poster welcoming the gray whales to Puget Sound. Take a picture and email it to Susan Berta at susan@orcanetwork.org before Thursday April 15th.

Orca Network will be holding a virtual costume making workshop via Zoom on March 31st at 3:00 pm. All ages are welcome. Register here.
