Recovery can imply a broad range of issues: recovery from an accident, an addiction, an illness, a loss, an unexpected event.  The Spirituality of Recovery conference will explore mental, physical, and spiritual crises exemplified by unimaginable situations that have emerged since the start of the COVID pandemic.  Each speaker will provide an overview in their area of expertise and will be offering coping mechanisms to lead you and your patients to a healthier life balance in the face of adversity.

At the conclusion of these presentations the participant will be able to:

• Discuss the impact that attitudes have on mental health, patient recovery and health outcomes. 
• Provide spiritual support to patients and families affected by the COVID pandemic. 
• Examine the role implicit bias has played in serving people in need and how this may affect patient care recovery. 
• Demonstrate how hope can be incorporated as a healing tool in patient care delivery. 
• Promote coping mechanisms to avoid healthcare worker burnout by establishing a healthy work-home life balance. 
• Discuss the physiologic impact that relaxation practices have on self and patient care.
• Incorporate relaxation techniques in the patient/community care settings.   You will have the opportunity to experience a Yoga Nidra practice.
