Intro to Lace-The Basics Series-w/Maureen Sep 5 6-7:30pm 

The beauty of knitted lace is in its deceptive simplicity! While lace often takes the look of an intricate piece of fabric the construction is anything but. If you are familiar with a few common decreases and are willing and able to combine those with well placed yarn overs, you will find yourself making a stunning piece of lace!

In this one session class, we will begin this lace scarf and break it down into its most basic elements, knit, purl, ssk, k2tog and yo. If some of these pieces seem unfamiliar, don't worry we will cover them in class! Aside from understanding what makes a lace pattern, we will look at how it is represented in a chart. 

Materials: 1 skein of fingering weight yarn, recommended Manos Del Uruguay Alegria, US 5 needles in preferred method for knitting flat, 2 stitch markers, pencil

Homework: Cast on and work Border rows (12 rows total). Full instructions are available at the shop when you pick out your materials.
