Your Rights in Recovery: A Toolkit

Pathways to recovery are difficult to navigate and can be fraught with misinformation, stigma, and injustice. But, there are laws and policies to protect people seeking treatment or engaged in treatment. RIZE Massachusetts, in partnership with Health Resources in Action (HRiA) and the MA Organization for Addiction and Recovery (MOAR), is launching a “Know Your Rights” toolkit designed for people who may not have access to the right supports – often through no fault of their own – to manage their opioid use disorder and begin to recover on their own terms.

Your Rights in Recovery was developed through RIZE’s Together in Recovery: Supporting Informed Decisions initiative. The Together in Recovery Advisory Committee, comprised of advocates, clinicians, public officials, and people with lived experience, helped create the toolkit to improve support and provide unbiased information for individuals with OUD and their allies. It will be accessible online, easily printable, and available in English and Spanish.

The webinar will include remarks by Attorney General Maura Healey, stories from people in recovery, and a brief demonstration of how to use the toolkit.
