Servant leadership is a leadership philosophy in which the main goal of the leader is to serve. This is different from traditional leadership where the leader's main focus is the thriving of their company or organizations. A Servant Leader shares power, puts the needs of the employees first and helps people develop and perform as highly as possible. Servant leadership inverts the norm, which puts the associates as a main priority. Instead of the people working to serve the leader, the leader exists to serve the people.
Our Speaker
Art Barter rebuilt the culture of Datron World Communications. He took Datron’s traditional power-led model and turned it upside down through the implementation of servant leadership. The result: the small international radio manufacturer grew from a $10 million company to a $200 million company in six years. His experience with Datron’s transformation is chronicled in the book, "The Art of Servant Leadership".
Art founded the Servant Leadership Institute (SLI) as a vehicle to share his knowledge and teach others how to inspire and equip those they influence. Art is the author of "Farmer Able", "The Servant Leadership Journal", and "The Art of Servant Leadership II".
