Soon you’ll have to prepare to report for 2015. There has not been much open discussion about FATCA. CIFA has lined up the experts on the field, both local as well as international, for this seminar. They will elaborate on the different technical, legislation and compliance aspects of FATCA.
Participants will have a chance to ask questions during and after the presentations and bring forward the issues they are encountering with reporting.

Speakers:

Mrs. Kelli Wooten - Director Markit | CTI Tax Solutions (USA) 

Kelli Wooten is a Director of Client Services with Markit | CTI Tax Solutions.  Kelli advises both foreign and domestic clients on the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (“FATCA”) and assists clients in the implementation of procedures for FATCA compliance. Kelli also counsels large financial institutions and multi-national corporations on matters involving domestic and non-resident alien withholding and reporting issues.  Kelli is also currently serving as Vice Chair of the IRS Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee (ETAAC).  Previously, Kelli served as Of Counsel with toe former Burt, Staples & Maner, LLP, which was a globally recognized thought leader in the information reporting and withholding space. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Wooten had an extensive career at Procter & Gamble where she served in many capacities, including domestic and international tax compliance, audit and litigation, and indirect tax.

Kelli will elaborate on FATCA compliance from a global perspective, the role of IRS and the Common Reporting Standard.  

Mrs. Aishel Báez Lara - Assistant Manager Tax - PwC Dutch Caribbean

Aishel Báez has a master's degree in International Business and Taxation Law at the University of Cergy Pontoise in France, and a degree in Law at the PUCMM University of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In the Dominican Republic, Aishel worked since 2004 as a corporate lawyer at the law firm Campagna Law Offices and since 2010 as a senior tax consultant at PwC Santo Domingo. Aishel is since 2013 working as Assistant Tax Manager at PwC Dutch Caribbean with special focus on the Latin America and FATCA services. She has been a speaker at various seminars in Colombia and Curacao on tax structuring possibilities via Curaçao and on FATCA.

Mr. Arne Kattouw - Head Technical Office - PwC Dutch Caribbean 

Arne Kattouw studied Tax Law at Leiden University. He worked as a Tax Inspector in the Netherlands and became a Policy Advisor at the Tax Department of the (former) Netherlands Antilles in 1991. Arne has a number of publications to his name, has taught tax law at Government and private institutions and is a speaker at various seminars on fiscal developments. 
Arne joined PwC in 2001 and in that capacity he regularly participates in legislative projects in Curaçao, Aruba and St. Maarten and is also involved in national and international structuring of companies and individuals

Both Aishel and Arne were involved with drafting FATCA, CRS and EUSD legislation with the government of Curaçao.

The team of Aishel and Arne will discuss various topics like legislation impacting FATCA, penalties for non-compliance, local FATCA technicalities for different types of legal entities and information required to be reported.

Mr. Gregg Stopa- Senior Management Consultant with BearingPoint Caribbean 

At BearingPoint Gregg has been involved in various government business process (re-)design and implementation tracks in the Dutch Caribbean. Gregg's expertise in IT implementations with a big focus on the organisation and compliance is a perfect fit when implementing (automatic) exchange of information. Gregg has played a leading role in developing new online portal systems for Tax Authorities and is the BearingPoint project leader for the PFGU project on Curacao. He was involved in the design of the online reporting process as well as the implementation at the Tax Authority. With this experience he will talk about the practicalities and technicalities of the actual reporting on Curacao.
