Blueforce DC Metro Field Day 2015

With a stated challenge by government officials in shortening what is known as the sensor-to-shooter cycle – the amount of time it takes from when an enemy threat is detected by a sensor – either human or electronic – and when it is attacked, Blueforce Tactical and emerging sensing platforms deliver a closed loop and rapidly adaptable hardware/software platform for real-time sensing leveraging already deployed mobile personnel where every deployed officer, first responder, or municipal employee becomes a sensing platform.

Blueforce will be holding our annual Blueforce DC Metro Field Day at Mac Business Solutions in Gaithersburg, Maryland on Wednesday October 14, 2015 from 8:30AM until 2:00PM EDT.  This free event is 100% "hands-on" and demonstrates best-in-class technologies using four real-world scenarios.  The scenarios for this year’s event are focused on:

  1. Hastily formed networks: Post-disaster and mass casualty incidents present unique challenges (and often complete denial of service) on "peacetime" communications infrastructure.  Blueforce will demonstrate and establish a far forward emergency communications capability for a mobile command post complete with common operating picture, interoperable radio communications, and bridged satellite and Sprint terrestrial broadband services.
  2. Shared Situational Awareness for CBRNE, HAZMAT, and WMD Interdiction using Human and K9 Sensing Platforms: With the threat of HME and other chemical scenarios, distributed detection using humans and K9's as sensing platforms is becoming a critical requirement.  Measuring and mitigating the threat comes next.  This scenario will demonstrate various sensor payloads for deployed personnel and working dogs, but also the latest in advanced hybrid respiratory protection from Scott Safety.
  3. Next Generation Technology for Hostage and Barricade Situations: Mobile technolgies are changing the game for those involved in hostage negotiation and barricade situations.  While throw phones to date have limited SA to voice comms, Blueforce and Kyocera devices deliver the next generation of voice and intelligence collection that trascends mere voice and enhances shared awareness by collecting imagery, covert voice, and perpetrator/responder proximity.
  4. Mobile Occupational Safety and Exposure Reporting: Today, mobile employee safety and security risks can be reduced, deterred, and even eliminated with mobile and secure Internet of Things (IoT) software for smart devices. Mitigation tools like Blueforce Bluebeacon delivers next generation 911 capabilities for mobile workers by delivering a secure software-based duress solution for mobile smart devices. The software delivers overt and covert means to “call” for help, but also enables real-time location, movement and position of the user, audio, and imagery support using secure full-chain-of-custody communications with manned and autonomous central monitoring resources (agency and/or commercial providers).
