Garden Sprouts is a sensory-rich experience on the farm that will help families create connections between nature and Jewish Life. Values such as appreciation of beauty, stewardship and care, cooperation and teamwork, and the blessings of food, family and celebration are woven into each class.
Activities include story walks, treasure hunts, singing, digging, planting, and tending to your own garden bed!
A combination of free time for exploration and organized play will enrich everyone's appreciation for the natural world and create long lasting memories with other families. Each week is a different topic.
Snacks are available at the Garden Cafe'.
Class 1: July 13: Seeds and Sprouts
We begin by preparing our garden bed and planting seeds. Learn how Jewish life is connected to the seasons and our agricultural activities. Take home a special piece of garden art that you and your family create together.
Class 2: July 27: Night and Day
Our garden grows up and down, during the day and night. Discover the ways our garden grows and the role of the moon in our lives.
Class 3: August 10: Little Critters
Ladybugs and butterflies are a few of the fascinating bugs that visit the fragrant flowers on the farm. We'll go on a bug hunt and be on the lookout for the most fragrant and beautiful flowers in the garden to decorate your kitchen table or give to a neighbor.
Class 4: August 24: Dirty Dig In
Time to play in the dirt and learn why worms are truly a gardeners best friend. Wiggle like a worm adn become a budding conservationist. Start our own compost and set up a rain barrel to see how much water is falling in our garden.
Class 5: September 14: Apples and Honey
Time to wish everyone a delicious year ahead, prepare our garden beds for the following year and plant for spring too. Learn about the Jewish Concept of Gleaning and get ready for Garden of Eve's annual Gleaning event October 17!
All classes are 10am-11:30 am, and are geared towards children 3-6 years of age and their caregivers.

Jewish Without Walls (JWOW) is a grassroots independent initiative to bring Jewish families in Suffolk County together in vibrant Jewish Communities. It is a way for parents and children to meet other Jewish fmailies across denominations and affiliations. www.jewishwithoutwalls.org
