Native Landscape Photography

Have you wondered how professional photographers see the world as they create amazing images? It's not just about expensive equipment!  This class will help you understand light and composition and what goes in to making great images.  Maybe as important, you will learn about common mistakes often made in photography and how to avoid them.  Professional photographer J. Paul Moore will share his thoughts on inspiration and connecting to the natural world in a more meaningful way.

This workshop is part classroom and part field work, starting out with class at Reflection Riding and then photography on the property.  Some walking will be necessary but not physically demanding.  You do not need professional equipment to participate -- smartphones, tablets, digital and old-fashioned cameras will work fine for this class.

Instructor: J. Paul Moore.  J. Paul Moore has combined his passions for nature and photography into a full time career. His unique perspective and vast knowledge of plants was gained as one of the co-owners of the Moore & Moore Garden Centers in Nashville, TN. A nationally recognized plantsman, and an award winning photographer, he divides his time between photography assignments, adding photography to his stock files or creating private portfolios for commercial and residential clients. He has completed assignments for such publications as Fine Gardening, Garden Gate, Garden Design, Great Gardens and Southern Accents magazines. Paul's garden photography is represented worldwide by Getty.

This course is an elective course and provides 4 credits toward the completion of the Certificate in Native Plants program.

Registration Policy:  As with all Certificate in Native Plants classes, class size is limited.  To give everyone the best opportunity to participate, there is a non-refundable cancellation fee of $10, with the balance refunded if you cancel at least 7 calendar days before the class will be held.  If the class is cancelled by the instructor or the CNP program, registrants will get a full refund.
