Attorneys have a unique responsibility to advance access to our legal justice system for all in our society, regardless of economic, social, or other barriers. Hear firsthand from a panel of local attorneys who will share their diverse experiences and commitment to furthering this goal. Their work involves freeing wrongfully convicted Ohioans, providing business legal services to local nonprofits, fighting landmark civil rights cases, and assisting immigrants and refugees with their legal needs. Attendees will also learn how they can promote access to justice, regardless of their area of practice.

- Diversity and inclusion and the difference between the two;
- The business case for diversity and inclusion in law firms and legal departments;
- Explanation of how unconscious bias undermines diversity and inclusion with a discussion of the theory and types of unconscious biases (e.g., the differences between affinity and confirmation biases) with practical examples;
- Discussion of the legal implications and risks;
- Strategies for interrupting unconscious biases in the legal profession.
