Topic Summary
Timothy L. Christen is Chairman of the American Institute of CPAs for 2015-2016. He has a history of contributions to the profession, including having served as a member of the AICPA’s Board of Directors and Governing Council. Tim has been a member of the AICPA’s Compensation and Political Action Committees, as well as the Member Advisory Panel. He has fifteen years of service as a member of the AICPA’s Major Firms Group, including as Chairman.
Tim is Chairman and CEO of Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP (Baker Tilly). Baker Tilly is the branded US member firm of Baker Tilly International, the world’s eighth largest accounting firm network. He chairs the firm’s Board of Partners and Compensation Committees. Tim is actively engaged with Baker Tilly International and other member firms. He currently serves on the Baker Tilly International Board of Directors, the North American Regional Advisory Council and chairs the Remuneration Committee.
Tim has been honored for his service to the profession, having been named one of Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting and recognized as one of the five Most Admired US Managing Partners by Inside Public Accounting. In 2013, he was named to the Dane County Business Hall of Fame by InBusiness Magazine.
Christen is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, which honored him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2001. Tim and his wife, Pam, split time between Chicago and Madison, Wisconsin.

Thomas has more than 20 years of experience as a human resources professional. He brings a broad blend of skills in areas such as leadership coaching, employee relations, benefits, training and development, change leadership and employment law. As a senior human resources consultant, Thomas provides one-on-one guidance and counsel, along with the ability to address broader challenges. His experience includes building human resource systems and structures that match the changing needs of businesses. He is adept at leading organizational talent and development strategies that tie to tangible business needs.
Prior to joining Schenck, Thomas worked for one of the top five transportation and logistics companies in the country. Most recently, he led the revitalization of human resources and supported the president of an award-winning, family-owned manufacturing organization.
