"Play Therapy and Domestic Violence”

This training focuses on the impact domestic violence has on children and the play therapy techniques that can be used to effectively treat child witnesses of domestic
violence. Participants should have a basic knowledge of the foundations of play therapy in order to gain the most out of this workshop. Participants will be engaged in dialogue and experiential activities throughout the workshop. Learning Objectives: 1. Participants will have a better understanding on what constitutes domestic violence.
2. Participant will learn the effects domestic violence has on a child’s mental well being. 3. Participants will learn themes of play seen in children who have witnessed domestic violence and therapeutic activities that can be implemented in play therapy sessions.
"Reflection and Collaboration, Essentials for Play Therapy Supervision"

This 3-hour, small-group experience will draw upon the play therapist’s own caseload for guidance from a reflective and collaborative process to enhance therapeutic skills in the playroom. It will briefly discuss the relationship between client, play therapist, supervisor. It will present the reflective and collaborative perspective when cases are discussed. It will present how a play therapist can manage transference and countertransference issues in the playroom. Learning Objectives: 1- Understand supervisory caseloads from an reflective and collaboravtie prespective 2- Recognize transference issues in the palyroom 3-Recognize contertransference issues in the payroom.
