An upcoming roundtable on March 6, 2014 in Los Angeles, CA featuring the Uzbek Ambassador Bakhtiyar Gulyamov will mark yet another step towards advancement of business relations between the US private sector and the people of Uzbekistan.  The meeting, organized jointly by the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and The Los Angeles - West U.S. Export Assistance Center (USEAC), will serve as the first-time opportunity for the top diplomatic envoy to present Uzbekistan’s 2014 investment projects, including opportunities in the food industry, to US exporters and manufacturers located in Los Angeles area and invite them to “Uzbekistan Agrominitech Expo 2014” to be held on May-27-30, 2014 in Tashkent.

Located in the heart of Central Asia, Uzbekistan is home to almost 30 million people, has rich natural resources base and enjoys a GDP growth of 8%.  The country's established infrastructure and well-skilled workforce are an attraction to U.S. companies.  AUCC members are currently negotiating contracts and projects, which, if implemented, will total about $4 billion invested in the next 2 - 3 years.  During the period of 1992 to 2012 U.S. exports to the Republic of Uzbekistan amounted to more than $3.3 billion and American companies have invested more than $500 million in the Uzbek economy.  In 2012 the US exports to Uzbekistan totaled more than $285 million compared to $100 million in 2011 and $101 million in 2010.

Famous for its high-quality agricultural produce, today Uzbekistan is offering incentives for US food processing and packaging companies to exhibit their machinery in May in Uzbekistan.  Please join our discussion with H.E. Ambassador Bakhtiyar Gulyamov, on the opportunities for bilateral business cooperation and presentation of incentives for US companies to participate in Agrominitech Expo 2014, specifically:

  • provision of exhibition space at no cost;
  • duty-free import of demonstration equipment into Uzbekistan, and
  • support for sale of US equipment and technologies exhibited at the «Uzbekistan Agrominitech Expo».
