The eighth annual New York Solar Summit will highlight the rapidly growing solar market in New York and the resulting influence on the economy, consumers, regional installers and leading utility companies. The Summit, convened by the City University of New York (CUNY), focuses on NYSolar Smart, a comprehensive strategic program supported by both Governor Cuomo’s NY-Sun Initiative and the U.S. DOE SunShot Initiative Rooftop Solar Challenge II aimed at reducing the costs of installing solar. NYSolar Smart is a CUNY program that builds on the foundation of multiple successful initiatives in New York City and New York State, including the development of a New York State Solar Map. Collaborative efforts are essential to ensure that the New York solar market will be ready to accommodate projected record growth and to position New York to continue to attract the many industries that support solar.
