GENTLE YOGA FOR HEALING BODY, MIND & SPIRIT 

Advanced Health Clinic is  offering a Gentle Yoga Class that provides a combination of intuitive movement, yin yoga, nidra yoga, and meditation. All body types and people of all activity levels are welcome. No previous experience with yoga needed. Class is gentle and restorative with a focus on healing.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is the “feminine” side of yoga, and is passive compared to the traditional yoga classes which are “masculine” and active. Poses are low to the ground and are held for an extended period of time (usually 3 to 12 minutes). It targets connective tissue, fascia, joints, and bones. It is relaxed, quiet, and slow. It builds flexibility, calms the mind, and centers the body, mind, and spirit.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is sometimes called “yogic sleep.” Through a process of guided meditation, a deep state of relaxation is achieved. In a state in between wakefulness and sleep, you can more identify with yourself as awareness. Yoga Nidra is helpful in decreasing anxiety, PTSD, stress, and leads to better sleep.
