How Public Policy Can Affect Your Business…and What You Can Do About It

bookshelf - unsplash Mark Twain famously said, “No man’s life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session.”

Most business owners know this statement all too well. This program presents an opportunity for business owners to learn about new laws adopted by the Connecticut General Assembly in 2019 that may affect them and what they can do to comply, bills and policies the legislature is expected to consider in 2020, and how they can effect the process and shape the outcome.

Please join Matthew Hallisey, a lawyer-lobbyist and government relations professional, for this timely and informative program. This program will provide an overview of the Governor’s budget, bills approved by the General Assembly and how changes in public policy can affect your business. It is ideal for business owners, small firms and other professionals.

You WIll Learn:

An experienced lawyer-lobbyist and government affairs professional will discuss:

  • The Connecticut state budget, taxes and fees.
  • Bills approved by the General Assembly affecting businesses; consumer protection; energy, the environment and public utilities; labor and employment; taxes and other issues.
  • How business owners can effect change in state government policies.

The program will equip business owners with the knowledge and tools they need in order to anticipate changes in public policy and give them a voice in the process.
