Welcome.
Join us for an informative and interactive workshop on Trauma Informed Community Building (TICB) on June 22nd.
Don’t miss out on this informative presentation and interactive discussion on Trauma Informed Services previously presented for educators, law enforcement, mental health professionals and community leaders to help them understand trauma and how to identify signs of it in the residents and populations they serve. Learn how trauma affects your daily interaction with community residents, and especially school aged children. Learn to overcome barriers to engagement, participation and program development that lead to successful outcomes.
Our second presenter will share evidence of incorporating trauma-informed principles as a TICB practitioner. He will share his experience working in a challenging low income neighborhood with a history of violence, gangs and murders. Our third and final presenter will share TICB experiences and share specific examples of incorporating trauma-informed principles into nutrition and food security work in poor, elderly and immigrant communities.
This workshop objective is to help Housing and Resident Services professionals better understand TICB and specific principles that help build residential communities. As a resource you will take away knowledge of existing TICB support systems to help our profession improve the daily outcomes of our roles in Community Building.
