COVID-19 Affordable and Supportive Housing Sharing and Information Session 4

This series of online convening’s will explore crucial issues for the affordable and supportive resident services and property management community in San Diego related to the COVID-19 crisis. Join the San Diego Housing Federation, CSH, and LeSar Development in twice-a-month 90-minute virtual COVID-19 information and sharing sessions.

  • 11:00 to 11:05 am: Welcome from Executive Director of the San Diego Housing Federation,  Steve Russell and Simonne Ruff, the San Diego Director at CSH. 
  • 11:05 to 11:20 am: Focus on Keeping Families Safe: Analicia McKee-Chau, Program Director of Southbay Community Services will discuss issues related to domestic violence during COVID when serving families. The presentation will cover effectively reaching and serving families during the pandemic as well as identifying possible abuse/domestic violence and how to address these issues.  
  • 11:20 to 11:35 am: Reaching Families During COVID: Jessica Johnson, Director of Tenant Services at Father Joe’s Village will discuss tenant services for families during COVID, including meeting schooling and childcare needs. 
  • 11:35 to 11:55 am: Childcare Resources: Kathleen Ferrier, Policy Director with Council District 3, City of San Diego and Arnulfo Manriquez, President and CEO of MAAC will present on childcare resources within the San Diego area.  
  • 11:55 to 12:00 pm: Emergency Resources: A quick overview of resources and emergency supports for tenants  (e.g. access to basic needs supports and benefits; assistance with access to technology and internet service; etc.)
  • 12:00 to 12:20 pm: Child Education: Alicia Montgomery, Executive Director of the Center for Powerful Public Schools will present on distance learning and supporting parents in co-educating children. 
  • 12:20 to 12:30 pm: Discussion: COVID-19 related information sharing amongst participants and a discussion of tools and resources you are using with your tenants and at your properties.
