Please join us for the November 13th Gabriel Chapter Lunch Meeting at Maggiano's LIttle Italy Restaurant in McLean, Va.  Our guest speaker is Dr. Ravi Chaudhary, Office of Next Generation Air Transportation (NextGen), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).  The Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen) is the FAA-led modernization of America's air transportation system to make flying safer, more efficent and more predictable.  This modernization effort is one of the most ambitoius infrastructure projects in U.S. history.  Instead of making minor upgrades to an aging infrastructure, the FAA and it's partners continue to implement major new technologies and capabilties in shaping a modern, resilient and secure National Airspace System that serves more than 2.7 million passengers and 44,000 flights per day.  

UPDATE Dr. Chaudhary will also speak about the post he recently left, where he led FAA's efforts to promote and manage commerical space launch and transportation.  He will address policies and priorities and business opportunities related to them.  NextGen's reliance on satellite and reliable space launch is a natural fit with Dr. Chaudhary's experience.

The FAA's FY2020 Budget request is $17.1 billion, including a total of $1.374 billion for the Next Generation Air Transportant System.  Details for the FAA FY2020 Budget Request can be found at:

Dr. Chaudhary is a former Air Force officer, having completed 21 years of service.  He has completed a variety of command, operational, engineering and senior staff assignments in the Air Force.

Price is $45 for Members Still Working, and $30 for Retired Members (no longer working).  There is no charge for activey duty, government employees, and Chapter Platinum, Gold, Silver Sponsors to attend.  If the active duty and government employee wishes to pay, just sign up in the Still Working category.
