Walk the Line Info Night with DWMRT

Walk the Line is a unique fundraising event for Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team and Great Outdoors is pleased to be supporting this event as we have done since its inception in 2011.  Walk the Line is a fun and exciting challenge offering two very unique events.

1.The Mountain Rescue Trail Challenge involves a 25km marked route on sustainable trails around the spectacular Glendalough valley including 1,100m climbing and the odd MR related “skills test” just for fun.  You don’t have to be a hard core mountaineer to complete this challenge just reasonably fit with a desire for a physical challenge while taking in some of the most breath taking scenery in Ireland.

2.The Mountain Rescue Navigation Challenge is for teams of 2-4 who are comfortable operating on the open mountain for 6-8 hours.  It will require strategy, fitness, stamina and great navigation skills if you want to “out fox” the competition.  This is a new and unique event and promises to be tough, challenging but most of all a lot of fun.

We would like to invite you to an information evening on the 2013 Summer Solstice "Walk the Line" Challenge in The Great Outdoors on Chatham St, Dublin 2 on Tuesday May 28th at 7pm.  If you are interested in the “Walk the Line Challenge” but are wondering what it’s all about then this is a great opportunity to find out more.  Are you a team player with the stamina, fitness and navigational skills to take on the Mountain Rescue Navigation Team Challenge?  Or is the Mountain Rescue Trail Challenge more your thing, comprising a challenging 25km hike on sustainable trails with 1,100 metres of height gain around some of the most breath taking scenery in Ireland?

It is also an excellent opportunity to meet some of the DWMRT team members.  The Great Outdoors will be open for purchases and great discounts will be available on the night.
