May Weekend 2016:

WE ARE ALL GOD'S CHILDREN

A weekend retreat for all teens in grades 6-12 at Camp Chanco sponsored by the Episcopal Youth Community Board.

EVENT DETAILS

WHO: Open to all youth in grades 6-12 and their adult advisors 

DATES: May 20-22, 2016

TIMES: Check-in is 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday.  Departure is 11:00 a.m. on Sunday.

LOCATION: Chanco on the James in Surry, VA 

FEE: $120.00 per person (limited partial scholarships available upon request, based on need)

 ACCOMODATIONS: Chalets (screened cabins with bunk beds) and communal bath houses.  Bring your sleeping bag and linens! 

MEALS: All meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday included, along with plenty of snacks throughout the weekend.

PROGRAM AND ACTIVTIES

Throughout the weekend, teens will participate in large group program blocks, where they will hear talks by EYC Board members, as well as small groups, where they will have opportunities for discussion and activities.  The weekend also features the full cycle of daily prayer and worship with fantastic music.  Below are listed some of the weekend's special events.

Friday Night- Icebreakers, Music and Social, Opening Assembly, First Small Group Meeting, Compline

Saturday- Morning Prayer, Large and Small Group times throughout the day, EYC Board Candidate Speeches, Flint Water Project Presentation, Noonday Prayer, Free Time with Ropes and Zips, Presentation by Angelica Garcia-Randle Missioner for Latino Ministries, Eucharist, Dance

Sunday Morning- EYC Board Elections, Warm Fuzzies, Senior Moment, Closing Prayers

Rising 10th-12th graders are welcome to run for the EYC Board.  If you are interested, please bring the application with you to the weekend.  You can find it on our diocesan website at www.diosova.org/youth
