Destination Downtown 2016 is a regional conference developed and hosted by Louisiana Main Street in partnership with Main Street Arkansas and Mississippi Main Street Association.

The conference attracts more than 200 professionals in preservation-based historic commercial district revitalization, including new and experienced downtown and neighborhood Main Street directors, board members, architects, planners, economic development professionals, public officials, volunteers, and consultants.  Attendees hail from communities of all sizes from small rural towns to urban neighborhoods in large cities.

The 2016 conference will be held in beautiful Ruston, Louisiana.  Ruston is known for its thriving college-town atmosphere, an 18 block historic downtown district and the incredibly sweet peaches grown in the parish.  The area is home to Grambling State University and Louisiana Tech University and boasts a variety of specialty shops and delicious restaurants.

The theme of this year's conference is Economic Vitality Teams.  Many conference sessions will focus on how preservationists and economic developers can work together to make our historic commercial districts remain economically competitive.
