Minnesota to Host 2013 USAD National Competition: Student Volunteers Needed
United States Academic Decathlon (USAD) is the premier national scholastic competition for high school students, created to provide opportunities for students to experience the challenges of rigorous team and individual competition. The theme for this year’s competition is Russia.
High school students from more than 35 states will gather April 25-27, 2013 at the Minneapolis Hilton to challenge themselves and others for national honors. Student volunteers are needed to assist with the competition. More than 350 students will present prepared and impromptu speeches and complete interviews before a panel of judges Thursday afternoon, April 25. Student volunteers are need to escort teams to testing rooms and to serve as speech timers. Approximate hours of service will be 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. Training and dinner will be provided.
