Daniel Iglesias, P.E.

Director of Transportation Development

Florida Department of Transportation, District VI

Daniel Iglesias was born and raised in Miami, Florida and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from the University of Miami. Daniel then worked for the civil engineering firm SRS Engineering for 7 years where he worked on various roadway improvement projects (including several for the City of Hialeah and Miami-Dade County). He assisted the firm with various water and sewer pipe designs, various pump station designs, site development projects, environmental studies and drainage systems designs. Daniel decided to focus on roadway design and started his career with FDOT District 6 in 2007 as a Project Engineer for Roadway Design Group 1. In February of 2009, Daniel was promoted and became the Project Manager of Roadway Design Group 2. Under Daniel’s leadership, the Design team successfully produced dozens of projects, most notably was the widening of the EB I-75 to SB Palmetto Expressway ramp and the Alton Road reconstruction in Miami Dade County. In 2011, Daniel was recognized as the Leader of the Year for the District. After serving as the head of the Internal Design section for 4 years, Daniel became the District Design Engineer in 2016, leading the Design office in producing several key projects including the reconstruction of I-395, the completion of the Krome Ave. widening, and the design of the Golden Glades Interchange reconstruction. Most recently Daniel was promoted to the Director of Transportation Development in 2020 and currently oversees the development of a $3.2 B District Work Program.
