FBA Young Lawyers Division Lunch Series Kick-Off
Please join the FBA’s Young Lawyers Division for the kick-off of its 2014/15 lunch series, which will allow young lawyers to get to know leaders in federal practice as well as other younger attorneys in the community.
The first lunch event will feature Hon. Janice M. Stewart, a U.S. Magistrate Judge in Portland. Judge Stewart will be speaking about her practice as an attorney and how that lead her to become a judge, as well as talking about the specific types of work experiences she chose to pursue and the professional and pro-bono activities she was (and continues to be) involved in. Judge Stewart has been a judge for over 20 years, but for 18 years prior, her private practice focused on business litigation, real property disputes, employment discrimination, federal and state securities litigation, contracts, negligence, fraud, and attorney malpractice. Both as a lawyer and judge, she has served on numerous committees of the local and state bar associations and the Ninth Circuit.
The lunch will be from 12-1 on Thursday, October 2, 2014 in the Federal Courthouse. It will be "brown-bag" style so please bring your lunch.
