Judge Patterson's responsibilities include direct support of the sales force as a resident expert and advisor on telepresence and videoconferencing in law enforcement and judicial fields.

Prior to joining Cisco in July of 2011, Patterson served for 29 years as a Judge in Dallas County, Texas, the last 25 of which as Chief Magistrate for the Criminal District Courts.  In this position, Judge Patterson presided over the disposition of felony cases and had administrative responsibility and management authority over 14 Judges and associated court support staff.  Patterson initiated the first videoconference system within the Dallas County judicial system in 2007 and by the time of his retirement had expanded it to become the largest connected justice program in the United States.  Patterson established video protocols beginning with the initiation of cases through all stages in court to post-conviction proceedings.

 Patterson received his Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University and his Juris Doctor from the Southern Methodist University School of Law and has been a frequent speaker at legal education and leadership training events around the country.
