The Supplier Showcase, table-top displays showcasing suppliers’ sustainable business operations, products and services will open at this time for viewing by attendee's.

Welcome
Des Bell, Alliance Chair and SVP of Pacific Gas and Electric Company, will set the stage for the day’s events for the inaugural Utility Alliance Sustainability Forum.

Alliance Overview, Strategic Operating Plan, Goals & Challenges
The Alliance, formally organized in 2008, has established goals and objectives to develop supply chain voluntary standards (best practices and metrics) and to evaluate and improve the environmental performance of the electric utility supply chain operations, their suppliers’ operations and the products and services purchased by electric utilities.

Dave Rupert, Alliance Vice Chair and Director, Strategic Sourcing & Procurement of AEP, will discuss the Alliance and its progress toward these goals and objectives, our successes and some challenges we have faced along the way.

Evolution of the EUISSCA Category Working Teams

Learn the philosophy and framework behind EUICCSA’s process of understanding and assessing the environmental impacts of the various commodity groups purchased by electric utilities (e.g. wire & cable, transformers, etc.).

Results of Supplier Survey and Initial Results from Supplier GHG Pilot
      - Speaker: Yonnie Leung, Pacific Gas & Electric

The Alliance conducts an annual survey to evaluate and track the environmental performance of its suppliers. Trends from the 2011 survey will be shared, in addition to a discussion of next steps identified from the survey results.

Following a recap of the 2011 survey, we will report the results of the Supplier GHG Reduction Program that began in April 2011.

EUISSCA will premier two videos during this time.

Small Group Discussions
The afternoon will offer many opportunities for suppliers to engage in more in-depth discussions with sustainability leaders and experts in the electric utility industry. This also includes a final opportunity to review the Supplier Showcase.

  • What utilities are doing to green their operations that can also be used in your business.
  • Available technical assistance programs to reduce environmental impacts.
  • Sustainable practices for specific utility products.
  • Opportunities to provide your thoughts to Alliance members via small group discussions.

General Feedback and Closing Remarks
The Alliance invites you to share feedback on the Sustainability Forum and the work presented. Your feedback will help us improve future forums.
