Common Sense: The Catalyst to Understand Critical Incidents

This is an educational course that clarifies the role that "Common Sense" or the "Zone" has in restoring mental balance after we are exposed to events or incidents that challenge our thoughts about life, ourselves, our families and our circumstances.  By understanding how the mind works to make sense of things we make it possible for this natural psychological immune system to do it's job.

There has been tremendous success in using this model to address all types of mental stress including PTSD.

This course is based on a foundation of Sydney Banks' "Principle-based Psychology".

Christine Heath, LMFT, Executive Director of Minnesota Counseling and Education Center and Hawaii Counseling and Education Center, has been teaching the Three Principles for over 30 years.  She is a renowned internatinal trainer and speaker and has guided the work of both of her clinics using the Principles.  She is a AAMFT Approved Supervisor and has significant experience in the mental, chemical, and relational health fields

Sgt. Ed Lemon has been a law enforcement officer since 1980 in three different police departments.  He has worked in a wide variety of positions, including the Director of the St. Paul Police Employee Assistance Program.  He has been involved in Principle-based psychology since 1993 and has helped to design and implement programs for youth, parents, corrections workers, teachers, and law enforcement officers.
