2014 ITR / DINO Tecumseh Training Run Series!

With the Tecumseh moving to October 25th there's sure to be some fast times.  The ITR / DINO Tecumseh Training Series gets everyone ready for the big event by allowing everyone to run the course with other's under 'near' race conditions.   Space is limited to only 100 member's per training day this year so sign up early and reserve your spot.

Here's the dates and time:

October 11th - We will park at the finish line of the Tecumseh at Yellowwood State Forest and carpool everyone to the halfway point which this year is going to be at the bottom of Indian hill.    We may park at the top and walk to the bottom then take the Indian Hill road.  At the top of Indian Hill we will continue to run down the road to the entry at the creek crossing on Salmeron road.    Map 1  identifies the entire Marathon trail and map 2 shows the reroute which adds another mile back around the jackson creek area around mile 22.

October 18th - We will park at the top of Indian hill and then carpool everyone to the start of the tecumseh at  Morgan Monroe Park Forest office..  Depending on volunteers we will also have a few water stations along the way.  Map of the course  (first half).

October 25th - ITR has always established a Basecamp for anyone that wants to participate.  It's a place to gather before the race and also a place after you get done with the race.  Make sure you get your great food from Dino and come share in the festivities after.

This year we are asking for a nominal fee to cover operating costs for the training runs and basecamp so as to eliminate any confusion with donations.   If you cannot afford it, email me and we will work something out. Basecamp and training runs are still only accomplished by the efforts of faithful volunteers, but the fee helps cover external costs of food, water, propane for heat, etc.  We also share ITR photos for free from both the training runs and the race, so it's quite a deal!

If you can't participate in the training events but want to help please register as a volunteer for the various days.  We will also need a few volunteers on Marathon day at the ITRBasecamp.

This is the first year we don't have to worry about Deer Hunting season.   However, it's still helpful to wear something colorful.

A special thanks always goes to Brian and Amanda Holzhausen of Dino and for the Hoosier Hikers Council for the hard work they do to put on the Tecumseh race.
