The 22nd Annual Chromosome 18 Registry Family Conference

Salt Lake City, Utah

Registration will close on July 1st at midnight and the stipend will no longer be offered.  Eligibilty for the stipend is reserved for current members of the Registry.  Additional details can be found in the FAQ section at the bottom of this page.  Please note:  Those wishing to attend the conference after registration closes will have to call the office and be registered manually.

Hello, Chromosome 18 Family Members!  The countdown is on to the 2015 Chromosome 18 Annual Family Conference, to be held July 26-29 at the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek!  Below are details that we currently have available.  Please keep an eye on this page and our website for more information.  

The Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek will be the home to our conference this year.  The hotel is located in downtown Salt Lake City's most vibrant area, located adjacent to City Creek- the city’s premier shopping, dining, and entertainment district.  If you wish to extend your stay, the hotel is honoring our special group rate of $169/ night from July 21st- August 3rd.  If you haven't already booked your room, you may do so here.  The hotel is approximately 20 minutes from the Salt Lake City International Airport.  This hotel does not provide shuttle service to and from the airport.  Please see the LODGING section below for more hotel information.

Alternate transportation: 
 - Xpress Shuttle (Reservation Required)- 801-596-1600; fee: 8 USD (one-way)

- Bus service fee: 2 USD (one-way)

- Estimated taxi fare: 25 USD (one-way)

Continental breakfasts are provided each day of the conference, Monday-Wednesday.  Dinner will provided at the Family Dinner and Dance on Wednesday evening.  Additional meals will be on your own.  The hotel is connected to a mall with a food court and many other food options

Conference check-in is 4pm-8pm on Sunday, July 26, 2015. The conference will conclude with the Family Dinner and Dance from 6-9pm on Wednesday, July 29th.  Please plan accordingly.

We are excited that this year's conference will have a wide range of speakers and topics.  There is definitely something for everyone!  Our schedule is not final and is subject to change.  We will keep you updated.

Lodging

Rooms at the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek are now available to reserve.  The Marriott has given us a reduced rate of $169.00 per night.  Click here to book your reservations online.  You may also reserve your room by calling (801) 531-0800.  If you have any special needs or requests, it is suggested that you call to make your reservation.  Please be sure to mention that you are with The Chromosome 18 Conference in order to receive the discount.  Families often comment that staying in the same hotel as the conference, and with the other families, is critical for the full "Conference Experience".  Please reserve your accoodations early.  Once the Registry's block of rooms are fully booked, our members are not guaranteed a room in this hotel.  Your reservation is your responsibility. First come, first served!

PARKING

  • On-site parking, fee: 3 USD hourly, 15 USD daily
  • Valet parking, fee: 20 USD daily
  • Off-site parking, fee: 2 USD hourly, 20 USD daily
  • Parking includes in/out privileges.  Hotel garage has 7 foot clearance. Offsite parking available for oversized vehicles.

Childcare

Corporate Kids (CK) will be providing the childcare for this year's conference.  In addition, we will be offering program tracks for Self-Advocates, Siblings, and a new initiative, Self-Advocates in Training for Teens and Tweens.  We will have a lounge and hang-out space for kids in each of these groups. It will be a place where the kids can sign themselves in and out (with their parent's permission).

Schedules will be available for CK childcare activities closer to the date of the conference!
