About Us

CMSP-AT will accelerate the use of coastal and marine spatial planning (CMSP) in the United States through the development and delivery of a CMSP curriculum for professional coastal managers in the U.S., derived from domestic and international best practices, processes, experience, and lessons learned.

To maximize impact, the curriculum includes opportunities for peer-to-peer collaboration and mentoring and lays the groundwork for a Professional Coastal Manager’s Credentialing Program. U.S. regions will be selected to host CMSP Advancement Training each of which will include an all new core curriculum, enhanced regional modules, collaborative and interactive problem solving activities and incentives for continuing CMSP education and networking.

Coastal and Marine Spatial Planning Advancement Training is produced by Battelle Memorial Institute and is made possible through generous funding provided by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation Marine Conservation Initiative. It is a collaboration with Duke Environmental Leadership, a program of the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University. For more information on CMSP-AT, visit our website at http://www.CMSPAdvancement.com
