IN THE AFTERNOON

100 little babies lay three and four to a cardboard box, strapped in the belly of a gutted cargo jet. It was 1975, Saigon was falling to the Communists, and LeAnn Thieman was accidentally caught up in the Vietnam Orphan Airlift.
LeAnn will not only present this hall of fame keynote, she’ll teach you how she crafts and delivers it. As an internationally proclaimed speaker and coauthor of 14 Chicken Soup for the Soul books, LeAnn knows about sharing stories. With lots of time for Q&A, shell teach you the nuts and bolts of creating and delivering your keynote, and how to make your story their story so your audiences leave saying, “I’m going to live my life differently after hearing you today.”

IN THE EVENING

In the evening, NSA Mountain West President Devin Thorpe will lead a purpose exercise that will help you identify your purpose and align your mission and message with it.

That will be followed by a "CSP - Ask Me Anything" panel discussion. We've invited the top speakers in the chapter, our Certified Speaking Professionals to answer any question you may have. Ask them about how they achieved their success, how they book their speeches, how they master their stagecraft, how they overcome challenges and anything else you want to know. This is a can't-miss opportunity to learn from NSAMW's best speakers.

About LeAnn

"I'm going to live my life differently after hearing you today." That's how one healthcare CEO summed up his reaction after hearing LeAnn's powerful keynote sharing life-changing lessons from her Vietnam Orphan Airlift adventure. Imagine bombs falling and 100 babbling babies laying three and four to a cardboard box, strapped in the belly of a gutted cargo jet! Believing we all have individual "war zones,"
LeAnn inspires audiences to balance their lives, truly live their priorities and make a difference in the world. A nurse for thirty years and coauthor of bestseller Chicken Soup for the Nurse's Soul, LeAnn knows first hand the "war zones" of healthcare today. By inspiring people to care for themselves as they care for others, she boosts morale, creating positive people who then produce positive outcomes.
Her presentations recharge and recommit employees resulting in increased retention, saving millions in hiring and retraining costs. It's estimated to take $50,000 to recruit and train one new nurse, yet LeAnn's program costs less than most sign-on bonuses! When she spoke to graduating nurses at a hospital recruiting event, over 50 percent signed up that evening! While health organizations and women groups are an obvious "niche" for her keynote addresses and seminars, her audiences have grown to include cattlemen, contractors, and corporate America. LeAnn inspires: Health -to nurture ourselves physically, mentally and spiritually -to relax and laugh and think positive -to develop inner and outer strength to cope in our "war zones" -to care for ourselves while caring for others Hope -to do extraordinary things, as ordinary people -to make a difference in the world -to keep the faith and never give up -to find the courage to take risks Happiness -to change how we respond to stress in our lives -to make positive, good decisions in our "war zones" -to identify and stick to our life assignments -to balance our lives and truly live our priorities After her story was featured in Chicken Soup for the Mother's Soul, LeAnn was invited by Jack Canfield and Mark Victor Hansen to co-author with them: Chicken Soup for the Nurse's Soul Chicken Soup for the Christian Woman's Soul, Chicken Soup for the Caregiver's Soul, Chicken Soup for the Father and Daughter Soul and Chicken Soup for the Grandma's Soul She has been featured on CNN, Fox-TV, BBC, PBS, in Newsweek Magazine, Voices of the Century issue and PAX TV's It's a Miracle show. Negotiations are currently underway to produce her story as a Hollywood feature film! KEYNOTES AND SEMINARS Balancing Life in Your "War Zones" or Lessons from 100 Babbling Bawling Babies! LeAnn applies life-changing lessons from her Vietnam Orphan Airlift experience to the "war zones" of our every day lives -- too much to do, too few resources, too much stress! How do we cope? In this poignant, yet humorous presentation, she motivates audiences to balance their lives, live their priorities, make a difference in the world - -and find peace in their "war zones." Chicken Soup for the Nurse's Soul or "I Didn't Even Stop to Go to the Bathroom!" By sharing Chicken Soup stories, and those from her own 30 years of nursing, LeAnn encourages, uplifts and honors nurses and champions their daily contributions and sacrifices. With love and humor, she encourages them to care for themselves as they care for others, re-energizing them, inspiring them to continue their compassionate service. It's estimated to cost $50,000 to recruit and train a new nurse. LeAnn's presentation increases retention--and costs less than most sign on bonuses! When she spoke to graduating nurses at a hospital recruitment event, over 50 percent signed up that evening! (program qualifies for CEUs) Chicken Soup for the Caregiver's Soul or "How Long Can I Keep This Up?!" While rewarding, caregiving requires tremendous emotional, physical and spiritual stamina, making burnout an everyday challenge. LeAnn offers remedies by encouraging caregivers to care for themselves as devotedly as they do for others. Sharing stories from Chicken Soup for the Caregiver's Soul and her own life experiences, she fills caregivers with hope, courage, and strength and honors them for the difference they make in the world.(program qualifies for CEUs) Light A Single Candle A sign above a pediatric burn unit in Vietnam read, It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness. LeAnn reminds people they don't have to fly into a war zone to make a difference in the world. No effort is too small. By lighting their single candles, they make a difference and set the world aglow with their goodness. By identifying, exploring, and sharing our gifts, people find they receive more than they give. You've Got To See It To Be It! Scientific studies prove positive thinking and visualization promote mental, physical, and spiritual health. By sharing the latest medical research and her Airlift experiences, LeAnn empowers audiences to improve their health by improving their attitudes. A certified childbirth educator, LeAnn teaches how labor tools - breathing, relaxation, positive thinking and visualization, prioritizing, and management of time, - apply as we "labor" through everyday life.
