Learning Objectives: 

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe common adolescent and young adult (AYA) blood cancers.
  2. Identify signs and symptoms of AYA blood cancer and diagnostic tests.
  3. Explain treatments, including the role of clinical trials
  4. Discuss management of short- and long-term effects, including fertility challenges
  5. Address considerations for AYAs (e.g., sexuality and intimacy, finances, and health insurance)
  6. Discuss strategies to enhance provider communication with AYAs to help them navigate challenges.

Target Audience: 

Physicians, advance practice providers, and nurses involved in the care of adolescents and young adults with hematologic malignancies.

This webcast is approved for 1.0 Continuing Medical Education credits prescribed by The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).

“Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the activity and individual assessment of and feedback to the learner, enables the learner to earn up to 1 MOC points in the American Board of Pediatrics’ (ABP) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.” 

MOC credit is approved for this activity. Participants must complete entire self-assessment with a score of at least 80%.

Approval for nurses has been obtained by the National Office of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society under Provider Number CEP 5832 to award 1.0 continuing education contact hour through the California Board of Registered Nursing. 

All continuing education credits are provided free of charge.

Participants must attend the webinar in its entirety, submit the online evaluation form and successfully complete the post- test to earn credit. Once submitted, the certificate will be generated as a PDF online.
