What: An interactive workshop for professionals interested in learning about how to best support and understand persons who have experienced trauma. This is an introductory workshop aimed at those who have not had previous trauma informed care training.

About the Workshop Leader: BJ Nichols, MSSW, LCSW, SUDS, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Substance Use Disorder Specialty who specializes in treating complex trauma and traumatic dissociation in children, adolescents and adults. Ms. Nichols has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and is Nationally Certified in Trauma- Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She has taught for the Master's in Social Work program at UW-Madison. Ms. Nichols currently works for a community mental health center as a lifespan psychotherapist and provides advanced trainings in complex trauma and dissociation.
