Description:
Does the idea of networking frighten you? Terrify you? Cause compulsive cocktail napkin wadding and/or nervous laughter? As a librarian out in the business community I understand your struggle and I am here to help! Networking for Wallflowers is a special workshop tailored to the needs of introverted librarians. We will identify what librarians have to offer, how to talk about those things, and practice making connections. Success is achievable for every personality type!
At the end of this session, participants will:
1: Learn a parking lot speech. 2: Identify the value of adding skills/potential connections. 3: Have confidence in your organization's value to the community.
Presenter:
Morgan Perry and Mid-Continent Public Library’s Square One Business Services
Morgan Perry is the Business Outreach Specialist for the Mid-Continent Public Library. A founding member of the Square One Small Business Services team, Morgan has dedicated her career to helping small business owners and entrepreneurs. She spends the majority of her time making connections between the Library and resource partners across the Kansas City Metro, as well as developing innovative new programming and events. Her passion is taking the Library out of the branch and right into the heart of the business community.
Square One Small Business Services at Mid-Continent Public Library supports local entrepreneurs through access to information, programs, and opportunity. Whether owning a business is a brand new dream, or your life’s work, MCPL is committed to helping you succeed. Square One is funded by a grant from the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.

- Non-Member: $70.00
MALA Workshop Billing/Refund/Credit Policy:
We prefer all workshops to be prepaid or paid at the door. If you prefer to be billed, please add $5. Full refunds or credits are available for cancellations made a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the workshop date less a $5 administrative fee. You can transfer to another workshop a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the workshop date with no administrative fee. Cancellations made less than seven (7) days prior to the workshop date receive no refund or credit and you or your organization will be billed. No shows are billed to you or your organization.
