2022 Theme: Coming Together Again .
Two years ago, we were hit with the worst pandemic and situation we as Foresters will hopefully ever face. It stopped many aspects of our lives both personally and professionally. However, what didn’t stop during the pandemic was the legislative process in Albany. The CLCPA is in full swing and moving forward, changes are being made to the law but there is still a lot of work to do. Exciting things are being researched and developed at SUNY ESF and beyond that could be the future of our industry. Further, the carbon developments are ongoing, and the opportunities are getting better for smaller landowners. These topics, along with several other continuing developments, are what NYSAF members need to be informed about and discuss. This annual meeting in Syracuse will not only help us understand and discuss the topics outlined above, it will also allow us to get together in person, network, and talk with old friends, colleagues and professors who helped shaped us into the Foresters we are today.

Wednesday Workshops: Earn extra CFE credits! Pre-meeting workshops on Wednesday afternoon. From 1:00 pm-5:15 pm we will offer (Please Note: workshops run simultaneously so you may only register for one):

  • WORKSHOP A: Forest Health in New York.  What’s new since the Pandemic (CFE Credits and Pesticide credits TBD) -- Moderated by Mark Keister.
  • WORKSHOP B: Practical Ethics Workshop (CFE credits TBD) -- presented by Marianne Patinelli-DubayThis workshop will introduce a variety of approaches to ethical problem solving. We will learn about six of the primary methods that we employ every day when faced with ethically weighted situations.
Wednesday Evening:  NYSAF Executive Committee Meeting from 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm.
