This course will discuss emergency preparedness and the preliminary steps in preventing accidents. Innovative Systems, rescue techniques, protocol for basic and advanced climbing systems as well as care and treatment for bringing someone who has been injured aloft safely to the ground will be covered.
Rope Wrench, Rope Runner, Hitch Hiker, Uni-cender systems will be demonstrated.

Lucas Drews, Certified Arborist, Woodland Tree Services, Inc.
Lucas Drews has been in the tree care industry for 18 years. He has a degree in Ornamental Horticulture and has been a certified arborist since 2003. He has competed at the ISA ITCC four times representing both Michigan and the Southern Chapters. Lucas is an Instructor for North American Training Solutions and Aerial Arboriculture. His passions include spending time with family, friends and giving back to the industry through research, training and education. He is the MTCC 2015 Champion and placed 4th in the ITCC 2016.
Joe Smith, Certified Arborist, Woodland Tree Services, Inc.
Bo is a Certified Arborist / Treeworker, Climber Specialist and TRAQ with the International Society of Arboriculture. He has been in the business of climbing and caring for trees for over 15 years. A native of Michigan, he learned his trade in Colorado, working in large trees and tough terrain. He then moved to Chicago in 2007 where he served as Tree Surgeon for the Chicago Park District. Bo now lives in Cedar, MI and is an active arborist working in the Grand Traverse area. Bo teaches courses in Arboriculture at Northwestern Michigan College, and volunteers for several charities and nature conservancies.
