Join the Nicholas P. Koenig HERO Foundation as it celebrates Nicholas' birthday and raise funds to help make a difference in the lives of children battling illnesses and life-threatening diseases.

The Basics
Up to 64 teams will battle it out to become the event champion! The tournament will be single-elimination until there are 16 teams remaining. Detailed rules will be posted onsite and are subject to change.
Teams will consist of two players each. Cost is $10/person ($20/team). All paid team members will receive a Nicholas P Koening HERO Foundation T-shirt. The winning team will be awarded $250. Second place will receive $100, and third place will receive $50. There will be "surprise prizes" throughout the day.

When you register, be sure to name your team. The team with the most creative (family-friendly) name will win a prize!

Bring the whole family! There will be family-friendly activities and prize raffles throughout the afternoon. There will be no meal at the event but appetizers can be ordered from 2-4 p.m. Ordering from the menu starts at 4 p.m. Complimentary popcorn and kids beverages (juice and water) will be available.

Beyond the Bags
When you register, we hope you will also consider making a donation to the Nicholas P. Koenig HERO Foundation. Every contribution is used to support families and children battling illnesses and life-threatening diseases.

We will also be collecting new unwrapped “birthday” gifts at the Great Blue Heron on the day of the event. All gifts collected will be donated to the pediatric department at the St. Cloud Hospital.

About the Nicholas P. Koenig HERO Foundation:

Nicholas Koenig is the brave, courageous and heroic son of Erik and Shannon Koenig of Richmond, Minn. At the age of 2, Nicholas was diagnosed with leukemia. Nicholas passed away in August 2011, but in his short 4 years of life he inspired others to reach out to support him and his family, and other families battling pediatric cancer. To continue spreading this support and to honor a hero, the Nicholas P. Koenig HERO Foundation was created.

The Nicholas P. Koenig HERO Foundation is a donor-advised fund of the Initiative Foundation, a 501(c)(3) community foundation located in Little Falls and serving 14 central Minnesota counties.
