PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

1. To provide an understanding of the unmet medical need in the management of CABP in adults

2. An update on the CABP guidelines

3. Provide the clinical and prescribing information for Xenleta (lefamulin) injection for intravenous use and tablets for oral use.

 

  ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Carlos Lopes, Pharm.D. Biographical Sketch

Attended pharmacy school at the University of California, San Francisco and completed a residency in clinical pharmacy at New England Medical Center, Boston, MA. 

Inpatient clinical hospital pharmacy experience with an emphasis in infectious diseases at Stanford University Medical Center, Palo Alto, CA and California Pacific Medical Center, San Francisco, CA. 

Home Infusion experience with an emphasis in ID, pain and nutrition at Stanford Home Treatment Services, Homedco Infusion and Apria Healthcare.

Pharmaceutical industry experience in field medical affairs at PCS Health Systems, Pharmacia-Upjohn, Ortho-McNeil Janssen, Durata Therapeutics, Actavis/Allergan and Nabriva Therapeutics. Currently Regional Director, Field Medical Affairs for the western US at Nabriva Therapeutics..

Appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor at the UCSF School of Physiological Nursing where teaches the Antibiotics Course to Nurse Practitioner candidates.
