Discovery Foundation's Stop Random Acts of Marketing

In Matt’s 30 years of experience helping companies grow, the #1 problem he has observed is  “Random acts of Marketing”.

random act of marketing - sentence fragment -   Any attempt to grow market share, increase brand awareness, drive revenue which is NOT part of a plan, can’t be easily measured or justified and does not integrate with other marketing and business goals.

Matt is leading a 4-hour workshop so nobody can ever again call your marketing efforts a “random act of marketing”. In this workshop, Matt will do a deep dive with CEOs and senior leaders to understand what companies need to do in today's environment to put together a marketing strategy and a plan of support the company’s growth.

Here's what you will learn:

  • Why are random acts of marketing so pervasive and how can we stop doing them now.
  • Most marketing metrics are BS, they might make marketers happy but certainly not the CEO.  Learn to set real measurable marketing goals and metrics that drive business outcomes.
  • Learn about sources of funding from the government that can provide resources to help build out your digital marketing program.
  • Marketing is a team sport but many small and medium businesses don't have the resources to hire an entire marketing team. Learn how to build the right team of resources regardless of budget.
  • How much should I spend on marketing? One of the most common questions. Learn to do the marketing math required to answer this question.
  • How to invest in marketing with clarity and confidence.

Do I need to come to this session?

  • Do you have a senior marketing leader on your team?
  • Do you know exactly what you need to do (to market) and how much you need to spend to drive optimal growth?
  • Is your marketing strategy clear to you?

If the answer to any of the the above is a “no”, this workshop may be for you.

Should my senior marketing executive attend?

This session is targeted to CEO’s but senior marketing executives will benefit from understanding how is marketing important to the business (obvious), but also how the marketing department should communicate with the CEO about marketing initiatives, ideas and outcomes so that it is in alignment with the business.

Should my senior finance executive attend?

Financial executives need to understand the mechanism of rate of return and how the value is derived to the business for the funds that are being deployed. Understanding what is important to the business from the marketing spend perspective could be valuable and provide insight into value of marketing beyond dollars spent.

Should my senior operations executive/technical executive attend?

If you have CEO/CFO/CMO all attend, add another and make it a great team experience to spend some time looking at the business strategically from the marketing perspective. It is a great opportunity for lateral growth of your business executives, and it is practically free to add one more member.

Come one, come four! :-)
