Painting Competiton
2012 will mark ArtSpace Herndon's 5th Annual Paint Herndon. Make plans now to participate in this year's event which includes the painting competiton and a day full of activities for the whole family on Saturday of Labor Day weekend, September 1, 2012.
Painting Competition with Cash Prizes! This year's adult competition will be a strict "Plein Air" competition, as it was 5 years ago at the first annual event. The competition begins with canvas stamping on Friday evening or Saturday morning and continues through early afternoon when finished paintings are due back to ArtSpace for judging. All paintings must be painted outside, en plein aire, without the aid of photographs.
The youth and teen divisions of the competition will have their own cash prizes and rules. These competitions will also be in the spirit of "day painting" challenging the young artists to create works in a short period of time but without the requirement of being painted outside.
