Leadership Middle Tennessee: Focus Forward - Inspiring Equity

This session will discuss implicit bias through the lived experiences of our panelists. The goals for the session include normalizing race conversations, addressing systemic issues, offering perspective and actionable steps we all can take to be more culturally aware. Attendees will walk away with a better perspective on what inequalities still exist in our society as well as how we, in our own spheres of influence, can be an ally and advocate for the cause of racial equity and inclusion.

Panelists:

  • James Crumlin (LMT 2012) - Mr. Crumlin is a well-known Nashville employment lawyer. His legal counsel is regularly sought out by management on issues arising from the employment relationship.
  • Ron Bailey (current class) - Ronald L. Bailey is a retired Lieutenant General in the United States Marine Corps. He was the first African American to command the 1st Marine Division, from 2011 to 2013.
  • Vic Sorrell - Community Engagement professional specializing in educating and organizing efforts to eradicate HIV.
