You have TWO DAYS to PEEK OVER THE FENCE at 5 beautiful West Valley gardens during the Yakima Area Arboretum's annual Garden Tour.

So grab your hat and walking shoes and get ready to have some fun.

Featured Gardens:

"The Quaint Garden"
Brian & Kristi Messer
9623 Coolidge Road
Yakima, WA 98903

Brian and Kristi consider their garden to be attractively unusual and old fashioned.   You’ll discover a waterfall and pond, perennial beds, chicken coop, and an old silo repurposed into a party spot complete with bar and nearby pizza oven.

“The Native Rock Garden”
Tim & Linda Drumhiller
6905 Scenic Drive
Yakima, WA  98902

2018 marks the second time that the Drumhiller garden will be featured on the Arboretum’s annual Garden Tour.  The first time was back in 2007 and since then the Drumhillers have transitioned their garden from mass plantings of lavender to a diversified collection of native and non-native plants showcased nicely in a rockery styled landscape.

"The Whimsy Vintage Garden"
Ron & Jenny Mansfield
810 Cobblestone Place
Yakima, WA  98908

The Mansfield’s cottage style garden is full of recycled art, bird houses, beautiful 4-season plant material, and shady seating areas that invite you to sit, relax, and stay awhile.  You’ll enjoy exploring this garden and finding all of its secret treasures.

"Hunter's Haven"
Marilyn and Pat Hunter
206 S 77th Ave
Yakima, WA 98908-1512

Pat and Marilyn’s .41 acre garden is a labor of love and their personal refuge. Marilyn, a longtime garden club member and Arboretum plant sale volunteer, has spent years collecting interesting plant material which she displays artfully in various groupings throughout.

"Jack and Bev's Expensive Hobby"
Jack and Bev Vonfeld
434 Schlect Road
Yakima, WA  98908-9522

Once they retired, Jack and Bev moved from Portland to Yakima in 2010 to build their dream house, a 4 Star Built Green home and garden.   Mission accomplished!  Their expansive 5 acre garden features an in ground pool, greenhouse, raised bed vegetable garden, wheel house with fire pit, pond and more.  The Vonfeld garden is also the site of the "WINE-DOWN" event on Saturday.

Join us for the “WINE-DOWN”

On Saturday, June 16 treat yourself to the afterhours "WINE-DOWN" event surrounded by the beautiful 5 acre garden of Bev and Jack Vonfeld from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.  Enjoy wine, nibbling on light snacks, and recapping your day of touring with other garden enthusiasts.  Tickets to the Wine-Down are $15 and can only be purchased through the Arboretum.

All proceeds benefit the Yakima Area Arboretum.
