The BIAB Gel-Git Get-Together (BGGGT) March 28-29, 2020 

UPDATE 3/7/2020: We do not plan to cancel this event due to the Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19).  We have contacted local health officials.  

• Orange County, CA does not have a COVID-19 outbreak at this time.
• Risk of infection to public in Orange County is believed to be low
• The OC Health Care Agency (HCA) is not recommending changes to routine, everyday activities.
• The HCA is not recommending cancelling or avoiding social outings or public events.
• All residents should practice good health hygiene which includes washing your hands, staying home if you are sick, avoiding close contact with people who are sick and covering your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your sleeve (not hands).

The Mayu Silk Art studio is a low risk environment. Scarf painting is not a contact sport, and the Mayu Silk Art offers lots of space and fresh air. We do ask all of our guests and staff to observe guidelines for personal safety (we provide plenty of soap and water for washing hands, and disposable gloves are always available), and staying home if you or someone close to you may have come in contact with the flu or any other contagious illness. More Event Details

This first-ever Gel-Git Get-Together (BGGGT) will bring together up to 20 students of our in-person classes and our online class in a fun, collegial gathering of minds and talents. We plan to incorporate a review of best practices and new techniques, a chance for sharing of ideas and insight, fun student-led projects and scarf exchange, interactive open studio opportunities (including how-to demos and making a sampler scarf), a hands-on paint mixing session, laser-focused discussions on the business of water marbling, troubleshooting and FAQs, and so much more. If weather allows, we'll even invite everyone to join us for a beach bonfire on Saturday night, breakfast at Ruby's on the pier, or similar off-site fun activity.

Participants are encouraged to bring project samples and materials for marbling.

The price for one person is $250; $300 for two partners attending together. One day options are available.

This event is strictly limited to those who have already enrolled in or completed one of our BIAB classes (in-studio class or full online course), and their partner or spouse. SPACE IS VERY LIMITED.

SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY: Participants in our March 26-28, 2020 3-day intensive BIAB class will get the first day of the event FREE as part of their regular tuition. These students may opt to add the second day for a prorated rate of $125 (or $150 for two people attending together).
