ABOUT Mt. Airy/Chestnut Hill Teacher's Fund

For many years, Mt. Airy & Chestnut Hill public school teachers have stated that they do not have the financial resources available to buy teaching materials and supplies in and out of their classrooms.  These supplies are essential to bettering public school students’ learning experiences.

Mt. Airy & Chestnut Hill public school teachers are either forced to pay for materials with their own personal funds or, worse yet, avoid purchasing these materials because of lack of approval and funding from the School District.  The result is missed educational opportunities, lower teacher morale and lower quality public school education.

During the past three years, the Mt. Airy Teacher’s Fund has provided more than $32,000 in grants to 57 public school teachers in Mt. Airy’s five public schools.  This year, we are extending the teacher's fund to include three Chestnut Hill public schools: Jenks, McCloskey, and Parkway Northwest. Applications approved and funded were for classroom and art supplies, technology improvements, educational trips and much more.
